Infusing Herbs in Oil

Infusing Herbs in Oil

I used to have a massage therapy practice and one of the products I offered was massage oil. I had several different selections, but the most popular was lavender. As you can imagine, it smelled divine! You can infuse any of your favorite herbs into a carrier oil, some with more success than others. Along with lavender, my other favorites are calendula, st. john’s wort, and comfrey. Sometimes I even throw all the herbs into a jar together while they are infusing!

Use an oil base that you think will go well with whatever herb you use, it’s personal taste. Typical carrier oils are coconut, avocado, apricot, almond and olive oil. I tend to use olive oil a lot because it is cheap and spreads well on the skin. Making the oil is pretty simple, enjoy my video tutorial!
