Planting Plans and Small Space Garden Design

Urban Garden Wisdom offers Planting Plans for pre-designed spaces as well as general Small Space Garden Design (a front yard or backyard).  Please read about the design process here. Designs are based on permaculture principals and created from a holistic landscape approach towards studying relationships between the property, the plants, the people and what we are trying to achieve.

Planting Plans are fairly straight forward.  Often times people have a pre-designed/hardscaped space with existing garden beds and these spaces need plants!  A planting plan includes the following:

1. A Planting Plan Rendering
2. A Plant List: both visual and inventory list
3. Resource List 
4. Implementation Plan (if the project is DIY or client requests this)

Garden Designs are for your front or backyard and will be a more in depth as it involves getting to know you and your property a bit more.  These can involve simple hardscaping improvements, garden garden structures, suggested artwork, kitchen garden layout and of course a planting plan.  How do you want to utilize the space?  What do you want the space to look like?  Do you want more privacy?  What do you love and hate about the current space?  These are all things we will discuss as we move through the design process.  The final product will include a booklet that has the following: 

1. A Base Map
2. Design Map: usually there is a couple, one for garden elements/hardscaping and the other for a planting plan.
3. Detailed Plant and Inventory List
4. Implementation Plan (if requested)
   
5. Resource List 
6. Any other documents collected during our time together

Payment is accepted in thirds, during each phase of the design.
